March is going to be the month of my first ever blogging challenge. Since there are 31 days in the month of March and 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs, I thought it'd be a perfect fit to challenge myself to get something each and every day from the Bible. Not only do I want to get something everyday but I want to share it. If we don't use and share the things God teaches us, what good is it to learn it in the first place, right?
So I hope you will join me this month and please feel free to comment and interact with me on this challenge. Read Proverbs along with me - who knows, we may end up picking the same verse to meditate on!
Well, without further ado...
Proverbs 1. Proverbs seems to be all about wisdom. Rightfully so, considering that the book is written by Solomon, the wisest man, apart from Christ. Proverbs 1 sets a solid foundation of the importance of wisdom, as described in verse 7, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
I love how wisdom is personified in this chapter and how it seems to just lay it all out there, plain and simple, right from chapter 1.
"How long ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning? and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand and no man regarded." Proverb 1:22-24
Wisdom is there...free for the taking. The question is: are you seeking it?
I really like the idea of your challenge. It's a great idea to blog about it so that you can hold yourself accountable to continuing and so that others can glean from what the Lord is teaching you each day.
